Registration for the 2019 American Trail Race is now available on the event’s website. The cross-country race follows the Trans America Trail, which was originally created for dual sport motorcycles. The route runs from Cape Lookout, North Carolina to Port Orford, Oregon, and should not be confused with the TransAmerica Trail which is on paved roads.

The American Trail Race debuted in 2017 with 13 riders in the inaugural event. Of these, 7 solo riders, and a pair of tandem racers completed the route. The winner was Dylan Taylor (photo above) who rolled into the finish in Oregon in 35 days, 15 hours, and 37 minutes.

In 2018, the event had two riders. Neither completed the route. The race is back for 2019 and already has racers registered, including a number of Trans Am Bike Race veterans.
