Bicycling, running or hiking long distances are great ways to get out, enjoy the fresh air, and just be alone for a few days. But it also means you need to pack and organize your things wisely, so you have enough to last during your trip but not so much that it weighs you down. I came across this video and thought it has some great ideas for traveling by bike.

Pre-Make Food
You can use a gallon size Ziploc bag to store an ample amount of food to bring with you while you ride. This can be anything from fruits and veggies, to something a lot tastier, like pancake mix. When you reach your destination and want to use your mix without making a mess, just cut a small hole in the corner of the bag, and use to slowly pour the mix out.

First Aid Organizer
While hiking or riding first aid is always important, you never know when you may need a band aid or ointment. Creating your own small first aid kit can be very simple and done super-fast. Just take some Ziploc bags and glue the bottoms together, stacking one on top of another. Label each bag with whatever you put in it, like band aids, gauze, or ointment. Next, store it in your pouch and when you pull it out everything you need will be well organized.

Compress What You Bring
If you decide to go for a longer hike or ride you’re going to need more supplies, including clothes and maybe even a bivvy. Investing in travel compression bags will be a lifesaver for any long-distance rider. This bag can be stuffed to the brim with items and then rolled so all the air escapes before it is fully sealed. Once compressed you can easily fold the bags and your items into a small area and take it with you wherever you go, without having to worry about the space it will take up.
